Quotas: Enable Filesystem Quotas in fstab
MediumStorage & LVM10-20 minThe brief
Enable filesystem quotas by editing /etc/fstab. Two mounts currently use only defaults and need the right quota options added to their mount-option field:
/data— enable BOTH user and group quotas/srv— enable USER quotas only
Leave the root (/) line unchanged. Assignment vars are in /root/case/assignment.env.
Device UUIDs vary per session; grading keys off the mount point. See /root/case/brief.txt.
What you'll do
- Add quota mount options to the correct fstab entries
- Enable both user and group quotas on one mount
- Enable user quotas on another
- Leave unrelated mounts untouched
Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
