Awk: Arithmetic and Accumulation
MediumSed & Awk5-10 minThe brief
/root/work/sales.txt has 'product amount' per line.
Sum the amounts — the second column — and write just the total, a single number, to /root/work/out.txt.
Grading recomputes the sum and compares.
What you'll do
- Total the amounts in the second column across every line
- Write just the final number to /root/work/out.txt
Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
