Persistent NFS Mount
MediumRHCSA Prep15-20 minThe brief
A shared NFS export must be available at a fixed mount point and survive a reboot. Your per-session assignment is in /root/case/assignment.env (SERVER, EXPORT, MOUNTPOINT). Create the mount point directory and add an /etc/fstab entry that mounts SERVER:EXPORT at MOUNTPOINT as an nfs filesystem, using the _netdev option so the boot doesn't hang waiting on the network. Grading reads the persistent configuration — the mount point and the fstab entry — not a live mount (reaching a real NFS server and calling mount(2) need network and kernel privileges the shared base doesn't grant; the durable config is what's graded).
What you'll do
- Create the mount point directory
- Add a persistent NFS entry to /etc/fstab
- Use the _netdev option so a missing server can't hang the boot
Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
