The brief

Before a risky config change, back up the web server configuration: create a gzip-compressed tar archive of the /etc/nginx directory at /var/backups/nginx.tar.gz.

What you'll do

Create a gzip-compressed tar of /etc/nginx
Save it as /var/backups/nginx.tar.gz
Verify the archive lists its contents
