Set the Default Boot Target
MediumRHCSA Prep10-15 minThe brief
A headless server is wasting resources booting to the graphical target. Change the DEFAULT boot target to multi-user (text/console, no GUI). systemctl set-default multi-user.target does this by repointing the symlink /etc/systemd/system/default.target at the multi-user unit — that's the command to use here, and knowing it's only a symlink is what makes the change make sense.
Grading checks default.target now resolves to multi-user.target (not graphical.target).
What you'll do
- Point the default boot target at multi-user.target
Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
