Disk Space Crisis

MediumRHCSA Prep20-30 min
The brief

An alert says the root filesystem is nearly full. Two large junk files are the culprits: a rotated legacy log at /var/log/legacy/app.log.1 and a leftover core dump at /var/crash/core.12345. Find the large files and remove the junk — but do NOT touch the application database at /var/lib/appdb/data.db (it's large but live).

What you'll do
  • Locate files over 100MB (df / du / find -size)
  • Remove the stale rotated log
  • Remove the leftover core dump
  • Leave the live database intact

Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
