netplan: Give an Interface a Static IP
MediumNetworking15-25 minThe brief
Convert an interface from DHCP to a static address. Your assignment is in /root/case/assignment.env (INTERFACE, ADDRESS, GATEWAY, DNS).
Edit /etc/netplan/01-netcfg.yaml: set addresses: [ADDRESS] (IP with CIDR), a default route via GATEWAY, and nameservers with DNS.
Grading reads the YAML (netplan need not apply). See /root/case/brief.txt.
What you'll do
- Assign a static IPv4 address with a CIDR prefix
- Set the default gateway
- Set a DNS resolver
- Understand address/gateway/DNS in netplan
Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
