Network Diagnostics
MediumNetworking25-30 minThe brief
A service is reportedly unreachable and you need a repeatable first-look diagnostic. Write a script at /root/case/netdiag.sh that gathers the essentials an operator checks first: the routing table and the set of listening sockets. The script must be executable and exit cleanly (status 0). Grading traces the run and checks that the routing (ip) and socket (ss or netstat) tools really ran.
What you'll do
- Create an executable script at /root/case/netdiag.sh
- Report the routing table
- Report listening sockets
- Exit cleanly
Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
