Persistent Static Route (netplan)
MediumNetworking15-25 minThe brief
This host needs a static route to reach a remote subnet through a specific gateway, and it must survive reboots. The box uses netplan; its config is /etc/netplan/01-netcfg.yaml (currently just DHCP on eth0). Read /root/case/assignment.env for the destination network (DEST) and gateway (GATEWAY), then add a persistent route for DEST via GATEWAY to the netplan config. Grading reads the netplan YAML.
What you'll do
- Add a routes: entry to the interface in the netplan config
- Set the destination network (to:)
- Set the gateway (via:)
Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
