Dojo: Point It at the Loopback

EasyOne-Liner Dojo5 min
The brief

The config /root/service.conf hardcodes the hostname 'localhost' in several places. In ONE line, replace EVERY 'localhost' with '127.0.0.1' in the file, editing it in place.

sed is the stream editor; its substitute command with the right flag rewrites the file directly. Don't forget: replace every occurrence, not just the first per line.

What you'll do
  • Replace every 'localhost' with '127.0.0.1' in /root/service.conf, in place, in one line

Hands-on lab: you work on a real Linux box in your browser, graded on the machine's actual state.
